Julia Spiri Blog Challenge #15

March 2016

Challenge #15 Anything Goes/ Film, Book, Song

I'm so excited to share my second project as Guest Designer for Julia Spiri. Our theme for this challenge is anything goes with a twist of creating a card that reminds you of a film, book or song.

I have a 6 year old daughter and a 4 year old son, both are in love with the movie Frozen we have been singing Let in Go and Do you want to be a snowman for what seems to be forever. When I learnt of the challenge I just knew that Frozen would be my inspiration. This beautiful Snow Elf kind of reminds me of a cross between Elsa (daughter's favorite) and Kristoff's adorable friends, the trolls in the rock garden (son's favorite).

Snow Elf can be purchase here,  She is available in a bundle with two other amazing elfs. I colored her up with my copics, added some clear wink of stella for some sparkle. Matted with brown and blue, added some wireless chenille, glittery leaves and snowflakes. Die cut words are Tim Holtz holiday words (script).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Morning Sketches #345

Good Morning, The sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches please join us! Jessi has created a great sketch for us to use. Our sponsor this week is Melissa (prize: Freckled Fawn embellishment pouch)

As I mentioned last week, I'm off this week to visit my parents. They are in an apartment building and the neighbours are just so sweet to me & kids. Always giving us little "tittles" (small gifts under $5) so I decided to give Donna a tittle this time while we visit. I created this little recipe book for her using the sketch. I sure hope she loves it!

To create this little book I used some recipe cards from $ store, chip board and my cinch machine. Chipboard was covered in distress paint, stamped over randomly with unity stamp. Tag was cut down to fit, stamped with versamark and embossed with the apron stamp from Unity Stamps. Geleto's colored in the apron stamp. Random ribbons and twine to complete the look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Please check out the rest of the amazing design teams creations.

Easter Greetings

I left this one later that I had wanted this month. I printed this image out in February but just recently sat down to get it colored up.  This card will be given to my sister (in law) Jody. She's my best friend who will listen to me for hours over the phone, travel with me to Vegas (and not tell all the stories!) and she is the Godmother to our two beautiful children. Basically she is everything I ever wished for in a sister, I just wish she lived closer! I'm heading to her place on Thursday and my hubby is flying out after Easter as he's currently working.

I would love to add this card into the following challenges.
Ching-Chou Kuik (Easter/Spring Colors)

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #344

Good Morning! This weeks sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I do hope you will join us in creating a project of any kind with the sketch. Our sponsor this week is Di's Digis.

Our sketch for this week was created by Debbie.

And here's my take on the sketch.

I was going to make another birthday card for this sketch and then I decided to go a different route all together. Our family is going to visit my parents for Easter break, we are so excited for this special time with them. My daughter and Grannie always go on nature walks and take photos (even if it's just out the front door to look at flowers in the beds or the hedges) Last time my mom was here she started a little scrapbook with my daughter of their photos together. I thought it would be fun to create a little flip book for my parents of this trip together. I have collected a bunch of project life cards over the last couple of years and now is the perfect time to use a few of them.

Supplies used. Heidi Swapp Project Life Favorite Things, CTMH Foil Tape, Marquee Enamel Shapes, flower from my stash, leaves cut from Cricut.

Faery Ink Doodlebug Bunny Ballerina

Faery Ink has another fun challenge this month. You can join us here

To create this card I used a project life card for the background, some foliage pieces cut out of white paper using a Cricut Explore and a bronze colored wink of luna brush. The ribbon is from my stash, the bright pink flower I picked up yesterday at a scrapbook store in Edmonton that's closing. :(
My image is called Doodlebug bunny ballerina from Faery Ink.

CTMH Penelope cards

I wanted to share something different with you tonight. This paper kit was so much fun to create. I worked on the layouts at a friends house last weekend and this past Thursday I started to create the cards. Today I finished up the cards with my sweet little girl at my side. She is almost 7 and so creative. Next weekend we have three parties to attend so she insisted that she create one of the birthday cards for her friend.

This kits gives you all the paper, washi tape, embellishments and instructions to create three traditional 12x12 scrapbook layouts, one project life layout and 8 cards.

Here are the cards.

And here is a closer look at my daughters card! She watched me create the one on the left and she took over the card on the right. So proud of her and her creative mind. Her friend loves rainbows so she really wanted to incorporate that into her card.
Thanks for stopping by tonight, if you are interested in purchasing this kit please click right HERE Chelsey Vorosmarty's website for Close to my Heart.
