Birthday Wishes

This week Fantabulous Cricut challenge #22 is follow this sketch and my friend Sara has her very first post as a design team member. YAY! So to celebrate her new role I figured I better get over there and play along.  I typically use my cricut for mixed media and scrapbooking titles on pages. So is was a challenge for me to follow a layout with cricut instead of hauling out the stamps and ink.

For this card I used a kraft base, 6x6 paper pack from MME Blush, a small wooden heart embellishment, script embossing folder, Elegant Edges and Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Cartridges. Because I just couldn't leave it plain I also used Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap distress ink. Guess I lost my personal challenge of no ink...

Here's the sketch we were to follow.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I love reading your comments.

Ugly Sweater

Yesterday was a full cleaning day so that I could play today while my oldest is at kindergarten. The boy is watching Curious George while he plays trucks and cars. This gave me some time to play along with Merry Monday this week.  The challenge this week is "Newsprint" and although I don't have newsprint stamps or paper I still wanted to play. I found a background stamp in my stash that I hope qualifies.

Also adding this to Scraps of Life May Rudolph Days. I found this blog on Bonnie's Blog and thought it sounds like fun, every month from the 25th-end of month post a Christmas Card/Project anything goes as long as it's Christmas themed.

Also going to add to Pixie's Crafty Workshop as Maureen mentioned in a comment. Thanks so much for sharing another new blog with me :) My snippet is the blue background paper.

Supplies used: Main image is called Ugly Sweater from Saturated Canary. Background stamp is from Unity Stamp Company Trendsetters Background. Numerous copics were used. Memento ink, Cotton Candy ink pad from CTMH, Paradise Flowers and Gems are also from CTMH.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Victoria is turning 6!

In November 2010 I started this blog to post cards that I was creating for card swaps on Splitcoast. I took breaks here and there but during the fall of last year my bestie Sara started her own blog too. We have constantly passed ideas and questions back and forth. Over the last little bit we have been challenging each other to play with as many challenges as we can. Today I'm posting a very special card (that has 6 challenges on it) for my little princess who is turning 6 on June 8th. Party plans are well on their way, we are hosting her friend party at our local Michael's store. She is pretty excited.

Also in March Sara discovered an amazing copic teacher on Facebook, Alyce Keegan with Kit and Clowder. Alyce does create and learn class every month and this month we learning how to color mermaids and the ocean. This is my practise image for a scene that I will create and frame for her bathroom. I'm in love with my copics again. We are learning so much from Alyce.

here's my card.
