Fun project that Tori and I created today!
First step is to cut out 4.5" squares out of fun fabric for the back (10) & neutral cotton for the fronts (10)
I then used brown stazon ink and stamps from Close to My Heart to create the numbers on the beige fabric (D1275 Serendipity and A1054 Vroom Numbers)
Then pin fabrics right sides together
Then I used pinking shears to trim the edges. This will help create nicer corners.
Here's the "fun" part, flipping them right side out. I used a toddler spoon to push out the corners.
Here's where Tori (2&1/2 years old) was able to "help" I put all the beans in a big bowl and gave her a 1/4cup measuring cup. I made a funnel out of a piece of paper that I held in the bag and she put to scoops of beans in. Great way to work on motor skills and counting! We talked about the beans, matching the fabrics together, the shapes of the bean bags, colors and counted the bags after filling each one. This took a lot of time but well worth it!
Last step is to whip stitch the opening closed. And here are the final bean bags photos of front and back.
Hope this inspires you to create these for that special little one in your life.
