Teacher Thank you card

Thursday is our last day of school! I am not sure who is more excited my daughter or me!

Here is the card I created this morning for Mrs. Fercho our kindergarten teacher. Sketch Saturday gave me a great sketch to use for this card. Also entering it over at One Crazy Stamper (anything goes) To make this card I cut up some project life cards for the design papers (Chalk it up from CTMH) and three different washi tapes. The paper clip match perfectly so I added that in there too, it was a freebie from a scrapbook retreat this May. I stamped the owl with memento ink and colored him with various wink of stela's.

Coasters

I have a small pet peeve... water glasses left on end tables, coffee table, kitchen counters, everywhere...

My hubby has a small pet peeve... loosing that water glass to the dish water when he was going to use it again.

I needed to find a solution to help this situation. I decided months ago to create coasters using my cricut explore. I'm happy to say that today these coasters are FINALLY COMPLETED! They will sit on our counter above the dishwasher. The deal is that if an empty cup is on the coaster, I promise to leave it there. I will refrain from putting it in the dishwasher. Fingers crossed I can control my OCD and leave them there. Hubby is home from work tomorrow so we will see how it goes...

Wanda Tensen's photo.

I wanted to personalize these plain black coasters I purchased at Michael's. So I picked a photo for each family member of something they love. Hubby loves biking and I love my Cricut, an on going joke is every time he gets a new bike he jokes that he still has not spent as much on biking as my craft room. Cut each out on Cricut Silver Vinyl that I received in the bundle with my Cricut Explore last July. I added cork to the back side (using liquid glass) to protect our counters. Sprayed them outside using a lacquer spray. I wanted to have a hard sealed top to keep the vinyl down when water drops hit the tiles. I tried a few different ideas before settling on the lacquer spray. I am very happy with how these turned out and that I get to cross this off my unfinished project list.

I am entering this over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge (anything goes) in hopes that I win the gift card to Verve Stamps. I absoletly love Verve stamps and have a few that are on my wish list.

Have a great a day! and thank you so much for stopping by my crafting space today.

Brother's turning 40!!!

My older brother turn's 40 this July.  He is heading to Las Vegas with his best friend which will be awesome for them as they haven't had a chance to do something like this together since high school.

His wife, daughter and mother-in-law will be in England visiting her family so I want to make his day extra special. I'll stop by for a visit the weekend before and deliver this card, some cash and an ice cream cake.

I got the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Soda Pop birthday card

Good Morning,

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's, grandpa's and uncles out there. We will be celebrating our Dad/Hubby on Thursday when he is home from work. I'm so grateful he works so hard away from home in order to provide a wonderful life for us and that I am able to stay home 100% with our two kiddos.

My card today is a super fun bright birthday card. I had some challenges coloring this little girl. My E37 pen leaked out in between her glasses and braid, I used a lot of Colorless Blender to push that dark color out of the way. I was searching for some inspiration on how to color this girl and found Lasata's Blog I absolutely loved how she applied crystal effects over the glasses. I used liquid glass from CTMH on my girl. My 6 yr old was amazed that I used "glue" to make the glasses. I love my little crafty girl.

I'm entering this card over at Retro Sketches #169 and CMCC#76 - Colour Me... Subtle!

Supplies: Copic paper and markers.
Silhouette adhesive washi sheets (blue chevron background)
Taste of Summer (purple paper) Close to my heart
Green washi tape
Aqua Dot
Liquid Glass

Wine oclock

I just can't get enough of Krista Smiths images over at Saturated Canary. Here's a card I made with one of her newer ones. She is called wine o'clock and I purchased her in this bundle. I'm adding this to my stash (I'm sure I have a wino friend or two that I can give this to, maybe even one with red hair. lol)

Retro sketches #168 was my inspiration for the card. I used my all time favorite bo bunny paper called enchanted garden. I've made a few special items with this paper (our 15 year anniversary frame and my personalized notebook for my grocery lists) I have a couple more projects planned out with the left over paper but I thought it would work well with this girl so I used up some smaller pieces. Added some purple sparkly brads and aqua dots to bling it up a bit.

Retro Sketches:

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at this card. I'll be back later tonight with another card or two...

Sketch Saturday week #365

This week at Sketch Saturday has given us a really fun sketch to play with. Lots of lovely cards with variety in the gallery already.

Here's my version of the sketch

This digital stamp is called Beachy Afternoon and she comes from the lovely Krista Smith, Saturated Canary LLC. I absolutely love all of Krista's stamps.

I colored this image on xpress it paper with a wide variety of copic markers. I used an oval, stiched rectangle and banner die cuts and some retired paper from Close to my heart called Footloose.

And here is the sketch from Sketch Saturday week #365

Masculine Birthday Card

Last month I purchased Traveler from Stampin Up and yesterday I inked it up and created this card:

My inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketches #190 and Color Me...! #75 Striking (Navy and Real Red) As I thought of these colors all I could think of was the 4th of July. And since I'm up in Canada I thought... let's do boating. I used some tommy dsp from ctmh, oval and oval scallop spellbinder dies, Outdoor denim ink, SU traveler stamp set and a random happy birthday stamp.

I'm also entering this over at One Crazy Stamper June challenge is anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

2 Cute Ink Birthday Penguin

Hi everyone, hope you are staying dry on this very rainy day! Hopefully this rain/hail will help our water restriction that we are currently on. +25 the other day and no sprinklers... my poor kids and grass!

Today's card is a free digi image from 2 Cute Ink! I signed up for their emailed newsletter and the first of the month they sent a digi stamp. I'm adding this card to their group on FaceBook, CAS(E) this Sketch 127 and to Pixie's Playground

This card I used darker copics, Stampin up paper which I thought was perfect!!! and some tiny pieces of purple cut with a postage stamp die cut that I picked up today! Added some teal gems to finish it off. This one's going to a princess party next Saturday!

And I just couldn't stop so I made an extra child's birthday card! Score! One for the bin. :) Let me know which one you like better: bold and bright or the soft subtle colors in this one.

Here's the sketch used in both cards.

Cas(e) this Sketch #126

This card is for Cas(e) this Sketch! I'm really loving the newest paper stack I purchased from SU called Adventure Bound. It is chalk full of manly papers. I can see my masculine birthday card bin filling up quickly.

Father's Day

Update: My card was randomly chosen for the prize at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. Thank you so much to the sponsor Digi Play Ground. I am excited to pick something off my wish list from this store :)

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut the challenge is father's day.

Challenge #253 - Celebrate Dad-create a card or project for Dad

This week over at Cardz 4 Guyz the challenge is texture. Hopefully my embossing, pattern paper and twine give this card enough texture to qualify.

I need to make four cards for my hubby and three grandpa's. Here's what I created for my dad. He's the kind of guy that calls fathers day a hallmark day, love me all year long not just one day a year.

I used a new to me cartridge in Design Space. It's called Simple Holiday Cards. I used a base cardstock of light blue and ran it through the big shot with an embossing folder. Cut out the card front using a piece of SU Adventure Bound paper. Added some twine and done. :) Perfect quick card that the kids can write on an mail to Gramps.

Sympathy Card

This year has been rough on our family, we recently lost our third elder this year. Spending time with the great uncles and aunts is so important. We need to hear the stories of the war, of their travels from Holland to Canada, settling in and raising their families again and again so that we can pass those stories on.

Here's the card I made for my inlaws as they laid Great Aunt Winney to rest this last week.

Supplies: White cardstock, CTMH Big Hugs stamp set, Tuxedo Black Memento ink, SU embossing folder, SU pearls, Glittery white flowers from my stash, CTMH color ready seam binding ribbon.
